About the team


Operate Digital is the central function that creates and runs technology. We also transform the way our clients use technology in delivering assets to our clients across a wide range of business processes. Working with industry leading, alliance partners across architecture, development, and multiple other technologies, we interact with all technology platforms and provide tangible technology delivery at scale.

Essential skills and experience

  • A QA Test Engineer / Developer in Test with a clear understanding of shift left strategies and automation first test approach

  • Strong testing background with a full understanding of the testing lifecycle and working experience in test automation frameworks

  • OOP development experience using Java, JavaScript

  • Solid understanding of Object Oriented Design and Data Structures

  • Understanding of Java, JavaScript, MSSQL, ReactJS, Spring

  • Experience of tools including DevOps, Jira Java, Maven, Selenium, Splunk, Slack, GitHub, Jenkins and Postman.

Role description and responsibilities

Our Test Practice within Operate Technology is experiencing continuous success and growth. As part of this growth, we are seeking to recruit a resourceful SDET / QA Test Engineer where you'll drive the adoption of automation with shift left and automation first techniques. You will also drive the development of PwC Testing Service’s identified accelerators and enablers giving our customers the best in class services. Each engagement is different, but typically you can expect to be working on the following:

  • Understand and champion quality engineering practices in a fast paced delivery environment (Waterfall/Agile/Devops) through the definition, build and test phases of each programme.

  • Deliver techniques that derive high quality software including branching strategies and lead on delivering the automation testing effort on a range of projects and programmes using Agile based methodologies.

  • T-Shaped capability with the ability to support development and support teams.

  • Strong expertise in delivering TDD/BDD capability on behalf of programme level scrum teams.

  • Previous experience in defining test approach and standards.

  • Flexible, independent and self-motivated.

  • Experience in supporting team success and motivating others to keep morale and performance high.
